steering-rack-double-shear-mount
Steering Rack Double Shear Mount

Steering rack reliability is a well-known weak point on IFS Toyotas running front lockers and 35+ inch tires. Under hard off-road use, the factory steering rack mounting system allows the rack to flex against the frame crossmember, placing significant strain on the steering rack bushings, seals, tie rods, and surrounding steering components. This deflection can lead to premature steering rack failure, increased wear on steering components, and in extreme cases, deformation of the factory frame crossmember itself. Our Steering Rack Double Shear Mount Kit reinforces the factory mounting system by distributing steering loads across a much larger area of the frame and securing the rack in a far stronger double-shear configuration. The kit includes heavy-duty 3/8" steel weld-on reinforcement plates and precision CNC-bent 1/4" steel brackets that work together to dramatically reduce steering rack movement, improve steering durability, and increase confidence when tackling difficult terrain.

•Double-shear mounting design provides significantly improved strength over the factory setup

•greatly reduces steering rack deflection, resulting in less stress on the steering rack, tie rods and frame crossmember

•Helps prevent premature steering rack seal and bushing failure

•Designed for vehicles running larger tires, front lockers, and demanding off-road use

•Weld-on Installation required

•Includes 3/8" steel weld-on brackets, 1/4" CNC-formed steel brackets, and mounting hardware

•Compatible with factory Toyota 4Runner, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser and Lexus GX steering racks

•Also compatible with Toyota Tundra steering rack upgrade

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0957/8659/8684/files/image_1920_6159c30b-6fdc-4f6a-9922-753f4ed2c233.jpg?v=1783585614
